Chen Duxiu and the Chinese Trotskyists  (by Zheng Chaolin)
Zheng Chaolin spent a total of thirty four years in gaol seven under the Guomindang and for twenty seven under the CCP. His knowledge of the pre-revolutionary history of the CCP and in particular of the thought and life of its founder Chen Duxiu is second to none. Chen Du Xiu was the founder the Chinese Communist Party. Chen was not only the leading figure in the Communist Party, this humble, colourful and brilliant man is second only to Mao in his influence on China. (Whilst sharing none of the blame for the totalitarian Maoist distortions and falsification of Marxism and Socialism.) He was the leader of the May 4th Movement in 1919. So powerful was his influence that even Mao had to admit "we are all students of Chen Du Xiu". Between the 1919 and 1927 he was considered to be the Lenin of China. Chen spent many years in Guo min dang prisons, and was a towering influence on Chinese literature, language and politics. Chen's ghost still haunts the Chinese Communist Party leadership today who are unable to extricate themselves from his politcal or cultural influence. (Zhengchaolin's "Chen Duxiu" in Chinese)
