G.V. Plekhanov

Plekhanov was the father of Russian Marxism.  He eventually went over to the right of the Russian Labor movement, and opposed the October Revolution.   See Lunacharsky's Revolutionary Silhouette of him for more.

  A very good exposition of Historical Materialism.  A little formalistic and the language is complicated, but good overall.
