One person said "Karl Marxs ideas have had an immense meaning for people all over the world, both in thought and action." Another said "Karl Marx has inspired thousands of liberation struggles. He was the father of modern political thinking."
Albert Einstein came second, so both first and second places went to socialists. Einstein was a socialist, albeit not a revolutionary one. Regarding science though, he was definitely a revolutionary.
And another revolutionary, Charles Darwin, came fourth. Marx said Darwins theories provided the basis in natural science for the philosophy of dialectical materialism.
