• And the Wall came tumbling down... Eyewitness report from Quebec City, Friday April 20th.
  Today, the mass movement of youth united with immense élan to oppose Capitalism and its institutions.  As I write this I am yet to see the news reports, so these are my impressions from the street and of those I talked to.

• Workers and Youth against the FTAA
  The FTAA is coming to Quebec City. It brings with it, the head of every government in North America (except Cuba), 6000 cops (with tear gas and plastic bullets), a 4m high and 4km long "security" fence, a freshly emptied prison for up to 800 political prisoners, and the possibility of the largest youth and worker mobilization since Seattle 1999. Members of Youth For International Socialism will be there in force, putting forward the Marxist solution to Globalization.

• Prague 2000, September 26th (S26) demonstration Analysis and eyewitness reports from around Europe
  The demonstrations in Seattle, Washington, London and Prague are an indication that something is changing. For the past twenty years, Capital has been on the offensive. On its banners are inscribed the new slogans: Liberalisation, Globalisation, Downsizing, Outsourcing, Flexibilisation, and a host of other reactionary neologisms. The fall of the Soviet Union gave a further impulse to this offensive. The bourgeoisie was filled with confidence and optimism in the future. But now, a decade after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the whole thing is beginning to come apart at the seams.

• Urgent Call to Action Against the WTO! Come to Seattle!
  November 30th through December 3rd, the World Trade Organization is holding their third "ministerial conference" in Seattle, Washington. An estimated number of up to 50,000 protesters will meet in Seattle for one of the biggest protests in radical politics of the century. We would like to announce that YFIS has plans to be an active participant in this incredible event.

• Join the counter-demonstration against racism!
  This year, Anti-Racist Action (ARA) and United Front Against Fascism (UFAF) are forming Coalition Against Nazis (CAN) to organize a large, orderly, outspoken counter-protest to this parade. We are mobilizing advocates of civil rights across the Northwest U.S. and Canada to make sure the world knows Nazis can't hide in Idaho!
